Meet the Chancellor
The Global Open University (TGOU) has been established at Mbale, Uganda with a Letter of Interim Authority from the National Council for Higher Education (NCHE), Government of Uganda vide reference number NCHE/U/027/1 Dated 30 June 2005. The Global Open University (TGOU) has been established in Uganda under the provisions of the Universities and other Tertiary Institutions Act, 2001 of the Government of Uganda. The Global Open University (TGOU) is being promoted with the assistance from the World Institution Building Programme (WIBP), for launching need based vocational and job oriented Bachelor's, Master's and Doctoral Degree Programmes in the areas of information technology, business administration, computer applications, mass communication, ecology and environment, disaster management, sustainable development, total quality management, geo-informatics, pollution control, eco-tourism, human rights, bio-informatics, fashion technology, medical lab technology, radiology and imaging technology, intellectual property rights etc.
Hon'ble Dr. Beatrice Mukaye Wabudeya, Minister for the Office of the President of Uganda with Dr. P R Trivedi, President, WIBP, H.E. Charles Walimbwa, High Commissioner of Uganda in India and Prof. Bigala, Advisor, TGOU Project. A view of the proposed site of The Global Open University at Mbale, Uganda for housing different departments and divisions of the University including computer centre, laboratories, class rooms, library, guest house, hostel, staff quarters and related infrastructure.
Hon'ble Ms. Geraldine Namirembe Bitamazire, Minister of Education and Sports, Government of Uganda with her team and WIBP President, Dr. P R Trivedi and High Commissioner of Uganda in India H.E. Charles M P Walimbwa. The Core Group for campus development : Mr. Patrick Namawar Wanyera, Dr. Priya Ranjan Trivedi, Prof. Bigala and Arch. Stephen Mukiibi is all set for starting building construction activity for helping the students from Uganda as well as the neighbouring countries.
